Insured & Qualified Trading since 2018
Preparation is everything

Flooring is the last trade in and the most visible thing in the room.

Bad preparation shows. A floor laid over a subfloor that isn’t level will bounce, creak or pop joints within months. Flooring that isn’t given time to acclimatise in the room will expand and contract after fitting. Threshold strips fitted without thought look like an afterthought.

We’ve relaid floors that other firms rushed, and we know what shortcuts look like six months later. Flooring is always the last trade on a GSM project, which means it goes down after every other trade is completely finished, on a properly prepared subfloor, with time to acclimatise.

Flooring types

What Kind of Flooring Do You Need?

LVT, engineered hardwood, porcelain tile or carpet, we supply and fit the full range.

🪵

LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile)

Fully waterproof, highly durable and available in wood or stone effect. The most popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms and open-plan living spaces. Click or glue-down fitted.

🌳

Engineered Hardwood

Real wood veneer on a stable plywood core. The warmth and appearance of solid wood with better dimensional stability. Float or nail-fit; can be sanded and refinished over time.

Porcelain & Ceramic Tile

Large-format porcelain, ceramic tile and natural stone, supply and fix as a floor finish in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and utility rooms.

🟫

Carpet Supply & Fit

Carpet supply and fitting for bedrooms, landings and living rooms. We supply from quality ranges and fit to a standard that doesn’t show joins or badly trimmed edges.

Every element in-house

From the subfloor assessment to the last threshold strip.

Our process

How Your Flooring Installation Comes Together

Four clear stages. Subfloor prepared properly. Floor laid last. No shortcuts.

01

Site Visit

Subfloor condition assessed, existing floor inspected, room measured and material options discussed, so the quote reflects the actual prep work the job needs.

02

Quote & Sample Selection

Full written quote with samples provided for LVT and engineered board options if needed. Supply vs. fit-only confirmed and material ordered once the spec is agreed.

03

Prep

Subfloor levelled and prepared. Floor covering ordered and acclimatised in the room before fitting. We don’t fit a floor the day it arrives on site.

04

Fit & Finish

Flooring fitted, threshold strips installed, skirting re-bedded. Room left clean and ready to use. Gaz checks the finish before handover: no lifted edges, no visible joins.

Real Projects. Real Customers.

Our LVT & Flooring Work

Where we work

Flooring Across Chesterfield & Derbyshire

We’re based in Chesterfield and carry out flooring work across the town, North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, both as part of larger renovation and extension projects and as a standalone installation service.

Chesterfield & Brampton

LVT very popular on extension and renovation projects across Chesterfield. It replaces original quarry tile or damaged suspended timber floors and gives a consistent, durable finish across the whole ground floor.

New Extensions

Flooring is always included as the final stage of our extension fit-out, laid after every other trade is completely finished, on a properly prepared subfloor, never beforehand.

Dronfield & Sheffield Area

Engineered hardwood popular on detached properties in Dronfield and Sheffield’s western suburbs. Herringbone LVT on open-plan kitchen-diners is one of our most common flooring requests.

Investment Properties & Landlord Refurbs

Durable LVT is the most cost-effective choice for rental properties across Derbyshire. High traffic areas, tenants, and moisture exposure all handled by a floor that genuinely performs over time.

FAQ

Flooring Questions Answered

The most common questions homeowners ask us before starting a flooring installation in Chesterfield and Derbyshire.

LVT is a vinyl product with a photographic wood or stone layer on top: very durable, fully waterproof and comfortable underfoot. Engineered hardwood is real wood veneer on a stable plywood core: warmer look and feel, can be sanded and refinished, but not suitable for wet rooms or high-moisture areas. We’ll advise which is right for your specific space.
Sometimes. Depends on the height difference relative to adjacent rooms, the condition of the existing floor and the type of new product. We assess this at the site visit and will tell you honestly whether lifting the old floor is required. We don’t fit over something that’s going to cause a problem.
Both. We can supply and fit, or fit-only from flooring you’ve chosen yourself. If you’re choosing, we can recommend suppliers and products we’ve used successfully. Either way, the subfloor prep and installation is handled in-house to the same standard.
Floor levelling compound. We assess the subfloor, apply compound where needed and allow it to cure fully before laying. A properly prepared subfloor is non-negotiable. It’s what the floor’s long-term performance depends on, and we won’t lay over a subfloor that isn’t ready.
Electric underfloor heating mats under LVT or tile are a common addition we install. We recommend and wire the thermostat as part of the floor installation. The mat goes down before the floor covering, properly tested before anything is laid on top of it.
