Insured & Qualified Trading since 2018
The right sequence matters

A kitchen renovation is seven trades. The order they happen in is everything.

First-fix electrics before the plasterboard goes up. Plumbing rough-in before the walls are skimmed. Tiling after the plastering is dry. Flooring last of all, after every other trade has finished. If any one of these happens out of sequence, something has to come back down, and that costs time and money.

When you hire a kitchen company to fit the kitchen and then separately manage a plumber, electrician, plasterer and tiler, you carry the coordination risk yourself. When one trade runs late, the next one can’t start, and you’re the one making the calls and absorbing the delay.

GSM carries every trade in-house. Gaz sequences the work correctly from the start and is on site throughout. You have one number to call, one team to trust, and one invoice at the end.

What Kind of Kitchen Renovation Do You Need?

From a straightforward strip-and-refit to a full open-plan reconfiguration, we handle the lot.

🔄

Full Strip & Refit

Remove the old kitchen entirely and start fresh: new units, new worktops, new appliances, new flooring. The most popular option and often the best value when the existing layout is sound.

🏠

Extension Integration

Opening the kitchen into a new extension or knocked-through living space. This requires structural steelwork, replanning the layout, and coordinating the kitchen fit with the build programme.

🔀

Kitchen Relocation

Moving the kitchen to a different room: the rear of the house, into the extension footprint, or as part of an open-plan layout. Involves new plumbing runs and electrical work throughout.

Upgrade & Refresh

Keep the existing layout but replace the units, worktops and appliances. Less disruptive than a full strip-out and still transforms the room, useful when the plumbing and electrics are already in the right place.

Every trade in-house

From the first knocked tile to the last drawer runner.

A kitchen renovation touches more trades than most homeowners expect. Here’s everything we handle in-house.

  • Strip-out & disposal
  • Structural alterations (where needed)
  • Electrics: first & second fix (Part P)
  • Plumbing: supply & waste
  • Gas connection (by registered engineer)
  • Plastering & drylining
  • Kitchen supply & fit
  • Worktop supply & fit
  • Appliance installation
  • Splashback & wall tiling
  • Flooring
  • Decoration

Gas work is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We have a trusted engineer we work alongside on kitchen projects. Everything else is done in-house by our own team.

Our process

How Your Kitchen Renovation Comes Together

Four clear stages. One team throughout. No surprises on the day the worktops arrive.

01

Site Visit & Measure

Gaz visits, measures the space and talks through what you want. We assess the existing plumbing, electrics and structure so the quote reflects reality, not a best-case scenario.

02

Design & Written Quote

You get a full itemised quote covering every trade. If you have your own kitchen supplier, we work from their drawings. If you need direction, we can recommend suppliers we’ve used successfully on previous jobs.

03

Programme & Order

Once approved, we agree a start date and a full build programme. Kitchen units are ordered with delivery timed to arrive when the space is ready, not before, not two weeks after.

04

Fit-Out & Handover

Our team works through every trade in sequence: strip-out, services, plaster, units, worktops, appliances, tiling, floor, decoration. Gaz checks quality throughout and we hand over a snagged, finished kitchen.

Real Projects. Real Customers.

Where we work

Kitchen Renovations Across Chesterfield & Derbyshire

We’re based in Chesterfield and carry out kitchen renovation work across the town, North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. Most of our kitchen projects are within 20 miles.

Chesterfield & Brampton

Strong demand for kitchen renovations across Chesterfield, particularly on the Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Brampton and Walton where the original kitchen layout is small and poorly positioned. We regularly open kitchens into rear reception rooms or out into new extensions for these properties.

Dronfield, Eckington & Surrounding Villages

Lots of 1970s and 1980s detached properties in this area with kitchens that haven’t been updated in decades. Strip-and-refit projects are common: new units, worktops, flooring and decoration, with electrics and plumbing updated to current standards.

Peak District & North Derbyshire

Country kitchen renovations for farmhouses and period properties in the Derbyshire Dales, often involving a more sympathetic approach to units and worktops to match the character of the building. We enjoy this type of work and approach it carefully.

Sheffield & South Yorkshire

We carry out kitchen renovation work regularly in the Sheffield area, particularly on semi-detached properties in Totley, Dore and the western suburbs. Get in touch and we’ll confirm coverage for your area.

FAQ

Kitchen Renovation Questions Answered

The most common questions homeowners ask us before starting a kitchen renovation in Chesterfield and Derbyshire.

A straightforward strip-and-refit on an existing layout typically takes 2–3 weeks from strip-out to completion. A kitchen that involves structural work, a knock-through or a full relocation to a different room will run 4–6 weeks depending on scope. We’ll give you a full programme before we start so you know exactly what to expect at each stage.
Both. We can supply and fit, or fit-only from a kitchen you’ve already purchased. We’re comfortable working from B&Q, Ikea, Howdens, Wren, or any bespoke joinery supplier. If you’re not sure where to source from, we can recommend suppliers we’ve worked with successfully on previous jobs. Either way, we handle all the associated trades in-house.
Yes, we carry out kitchen relocations regularly, often as part of an extension or open-plan reconfiguration. Moving the kitchen involves rerouting plumbing supply and waste, rewiring, and often structural work to open up the new space. Because we handle all these trades in-house, a relocation project is well within our scope.
Not during the core fit-out phase. The kitchen will be disconnected and out of use for typically 1–2 weeks while the major work happens. We’ll tell you exactly when this period is, usually align it to minimise disruption, and do everything we can to keep the rest of the house liveable throughout.
Gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. By law, no one else can legally connect a gas appliance. We work alongside a trusted Gas Safe engineer on kitchen projects and include their involvement in the programme. The gas connection is coordinated as part of the overall installation, so there’s no scheduling gap.
